Rotary Air Lock Valve
A rotary air lock valve is a precision rotary device used at the discharge of dust collectors (baghouses/cartridge collectors) and hoppers to feed bulk dust or granules from a high-pressure or high-vacuum environment into a lower-pressure area while maintaining an air seal. It also serves as a material metering device in pneumatic conveying systems.
Size Range150 mm to 500 mm (6″ to 20″) inlet diameter
Operating Temperature0°C to 150°C
Working Principle
A rotor with multiple vanes rotates within a close-tolerance housing. Dust collected in the hopper falls into the rotor pockets. As the rotor turns, pockets carry dust to the outlet where it discharges while the tight clearance prevents air from bypassing, maintaining the pressure differential required for efficient dust collection.
